🌊 The Water Doe
They say that, long before the first boats crossed the northern lakes, there lived a white doe beside a lake no map has ever found.
She was not born of the forest, nor of the earth.
The old ones say she rose from the water itself, when the moon first touched its surface.
Her hooves never disturbed the lake.
Wherever she walked, the water rose around her like silver flowers.
They say the fishermen would sometimes see her standing in the mist at dawn, watching from the far shore.
But those who tried to follow her never found footprints. Only ripples.
And sometimes, when the lake was perfectly still, they say you could see her reflection walking beneath the water.
No one knows where she came from.
No one knows where she goes.
But there is an old tale whispered beside the lake:
When the Water Doe appears, something that was lost is about to be found.
And on the nights when she walks upon the water…the lake remembers.
